Allianz General Empowers Green Habits With Cash Rewards For Low-Mileage BEV Drivers

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (Allianz General) is empowering green habits through its newly launched Allianz Electric Vehicle (EV) EcoMiles benefit programme, which rewards low-mileage Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) drivers with real cash benefits.

In a statement today, Allianz General said policyholders who insure their BEV under an Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy for private use can enjoy cash rewards of up to 15 per cent of their insurance premiums by activating the Allianz EV EcoMiles benefit via the MyAllianz app at no extra cost.

Allianz General chief executive officer Sean Wang said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to recognising and supporting its customers’ lifestyles while encouraging environmentally friendly practices.

By offering tangible rewards for low mileage and BEV usage, he said Allianz General aims to empower its customers to make sustainable choices that benefit them as well as the environment.

“Driving a BEV is already one step towards reducing carbon emissions. Now, whether you’re a remote worker or a weekend-only driver, Allianz EV EcoMiles rewards you even further,” he said in the statement.

According to Allianz General, the programme offers two tiers of rewards, with Tier 1 giving customers with an annual average mileage of up to 10,000 kilometres (km) a 15 per cent cash reward of their net basic premium (after deduction of the No Claim Discount or NCD).

For the second tier, it said customers with an annual average mileage between 10,001 and 15,000 km will receive a cash reward of 10 per cent of their net basic premium (after deduction of the NCD).

“To receive the cash reward, policyholders must activate Allianz EV EcoMiles in the MyAllianz mobile app within 30 days of the policy's effective date.

“Following this, they are to submit their odometer reading and vehicle photographs in the app within 14 days before or after the policy expiry date. Once the submission is approved, the cash reward will be credited to the policyholder’s account,” it said.

For a limited time, Allianz General is also offering complimentary RM100 EV charging credits to customers who insure their BEVs under an Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy between Sept 29 to Oct 31, 2025, activate the Allianz EV EcoMiles benefit within 30 days of their policy's effective date, and provide a valid email address and phone number during the purchase process.

“They will then receive a redemption code for the complimentary charging credit via email, and the code can be redeemed via the ChargEV app by Yinson Greentech,” it added.
