KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Leading cinema exhibitor, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) has unveiled the refreshed GSC 1 Utama, with a total 13 halls and capacity of 1,595 seats.
The newly reopened GSC 1 Utama encompasses all-new hall formats including GSC Hong Leong Bank BIG Hall, GSC Hong Leong Bank Prestige Hall, and GSC PlayPark, on top of its refurbished ScreenX and 4DX halls - providing total entertainment experiences for everyone to enjoy
Its chief executive officer Koh Mei Lee in a statement today said the refreshed GSC 1 Utama has been reimagined as a dynamic lifestyle hub and vibrant social destination that embodies the future of cinema.
“At GSC, we’re committed to delivering total entertainment experiences that are future-ready, engaging, aligned with evolving trends and where memories are made.
“In collaboration with our valued partner Hong Leong Bank, we are also proud to introduce the GSC Hong Leong Bank Prestige Hall and the GSC Hong Leong Bank BIG Hall, two exciting additions that elevate the cinematic journey with premium offerings, amongst other formats with something for everyone,” she said.
Koh said the all-new GSC Hong Leong Bank Prestige Hall provides premium comfort and exclusivity with 30 cozy recliner seats complete with conveniently placed USB charging ports, access to a dedicated private lounge and tickets come with a complimentary regular popcorn combo.
“Movie-goers can scan a QR code to order additional light bites from savoury snacks to sweet treats and drinks by Happy Food Co, served directly to your seat. The Hong Leong Bank BIG Hall is levelled up with plush recliner seats which includes USB charging ports, with a total seating capacity of 173 seats.
“The hall features state of the art 4K projectors for crystal-clear visuals and stunning detail, complete with Dolby Atmos surround sound.
“For parents with little ones, GSC PlayPark combines a family-friendly movie experience with fun-filled play time at the adjoining play area, featuring convenient facilities such a nursing room, diaper changing room and a kid-friendly toilet,” she added.
Meanwhile, Hong Leong Bank managing director of personal financial services Andrew Jong highlighted the bank’s commitment to offering diversified customer experiences and supporting the creative industries.

Eligible GSC HLB Gold or Platinum Credit Cardholders can enjoy RM6 off per movie ticket purchased online via the GSC website or GSC app, along with 30 per cent savings off concessions when ordering through the GSC website or GSC app.
Cardholders can also get one complimentary regular popcorn when they spend RM50 per receipt with HLB cards at any GSC Play Hall, in line with the bank’s Kids Eat Free campaign.
