KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- 99 Speed Mart Retail Holdings Bhd’s net profit for the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2025 (2Q 2025) rose 22.1 per cent to RM153.21 million from RM125.53 million a year earlier.

Revenue increased 11.9 per cent to RM2.71 billion from RM2.42 billion previously.

In a statement today, the retailer said the stronger performance was partly driven by the net addition of 248 outlets, bringing the total to 2,894 as at June 30, 2025, compared with 2,646 a year earlier.

“Total sales transactions increased 13.2 per cent to 128.9 million, with an average basket size of RM21.0,” it said.

For the six months ended Dec 31, 2025, net profit climbed 14.6 per cent to RM296.39 million from RM258.69 million, while revenue rose 9.7 per cent to RM5.32 billion from RM4.85 billion a year earlier.

99 Speed Mart chief executive officer Lee Thiam Wah said the robust results reflected the company’s consistent expansion strategy and focus on enhancing shopper experience through greater convenience and accessibility.

He said 99 Speed Mart now operates 2,894 outlets, with all stores opening from 9 a.m. daily to serve more customers.

“As part of our long-term value strategy, we have rolled out the enduring ‘4 items for RM10’ series nationwide, supported by dedicated Everyday Value Zones featuring at least 40 curated products across key categories. This initiative offers greater value and helps cost-conscious households manage daily needs.

“We believe the series not only aligns with the shopping habits of some customers but also encourages overall spending,” he said.

Looking ahead, Lee said the company remained optimistic of sustaining growth, supported by ongoing outlet expansion and innovative retail programmes to meet evolving customer needs.

On dividends, the company said its board declared a first interim dividend of RM0.0225 per ordinary share, amounting to about RM189.0 million, on May 15, 2025, for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025. The dividend was paid on June 9, 2025, to shareholders on the record as at May 29, 2025, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
