KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- Cypark Resources Bhd's 51 per cent indirectly-owned subsidiary, Reviva BACRE (Ulu Remis) Sdn Bhd, has received approval from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA) to develop a 1.5-megawatt (MW) biogas facility in Layang-Layang, Johor.

The integrated renewable energy and environmental solutions provider said the approval was awarded under SEDA’s 2025 Feed-in Tariff (FiT) e-bidding programme.

“The project, with a net export capacity of 1.3MW, is scheduled for completion by July 25, 2028.

“Upon commissioning, it will supply renewable electricity to the national grid for 21 years under the FiT mechanism,” it said in a stock exchange filing.

Cypark said the project underscores its ability to execute across multiple renewable energy solutions, establishing the group as a trusted partner in Malaysia’s energy transition. It added that once operational, the biogas facility is expected to deliver predictable, long-term revenue under the FiT regime.

“While the project is not expected to have a material impact on the group’s earnings for the financial year ending April 30, 2026, it is anticipated to contribute positively to future earnings once in operation,” it said.
