Chief Secretary Commits To Monitoring RMK13 Implementation

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar has pledged to closely and regularly monitor the implementation of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).

He said the plan, tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Dewan Rakyat today, is grounded in efforts to enhance the quality of life, strengthen governance and position Malaysia among the world’s top 30 economies.

“The presentation was firm, determined, inclusive and strategic, aimed at making Malaysia a leading economy in Southeast Asia and restoring the nation’s dignity and standing,” he said in a Facebook post.

“In this regard, I urge the entire civil service to take time to study this important document. God willing, I will personally oversee the implementation of 13MP, closely and consistently.”

Shamsul Azri, who was present during the tabling at Parliament, also extended his appreciation to officers and staff at the Ministry of Economy for their dedication in preparing the 13MP document.

When tabling the five-year national development plan, Anwar said 13MP is anchored on three core principles namely, building a sovereign and dignified nation, establishing a MADANI-based social system, and transitioning to an artificial intelligence-driven economy.

The plan aims to foster an inclusive, progressive society and establish Malaysia as a regional leader in digital technology, producing globally competitive innovations, products and services under the ‘Made by Malaysia’ brand.
