Trump Says 15 Per Cent Tariff on South Korea Agreed In ‘Full’ Trade Deal

WASHINGTON, July 31 (Bernama-Yonhap) – United States (US) President Donald Trump on Wednesday said his administration has agreed to impose a 15 per cent tariff on South Korea, 10 percentage points lower than initially proposed, under a trade deal that exempts US goods from tariffs.

According to Yonhap news agency, Trump announced the agreement in a social media post shortly after meeting a South Korean trade delegation.

Seoul had been pushing for a deal before Friday, when "reciprocal" tariffs were due to take effect unless an agreement was reached.

"We have agreed to a tariff for South Korea of 15 per cent. America will not be charged a tariff," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
