PUTRAJAYA, July 23 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) will ensure that the people benefit from the country’s economic stability through a more holistic planning as well as sustainable and liveable urban development, said Minister Nga Kor Ming.
He said KPKT was committed to intensifying and strengthening efforts to ensure that all development initiatives contribute to the people’s well-being and comfort.
Nga said the announcement of aid and incentives by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim earlier today reflected a realistic policy that ensured the people, as the backbone of the nation’s success, were not overlooked but continually appreciated.
“All economic growth, historic investments, a stronger currency and improved national competitiveness are now directly translated into benefits that impact the people’s daily lives.
“These measures are not merely aid initiatives but a recognition of the people’s confidence in the MADANI government’s leadership in driving the country’s reform agenda,” he said in a statement here today.
Nga said KPKT welcomed the prime minister’s announcements, particularly the RM100 one-off cash aid for Malaysians aged 18 and above under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme and the postponement of toll rate hikes for 10 major highways.
The prime minister had also announced the reduction in the RON95 petrol price to RM1.99 per litre, an additional public holiday on Sept 15 in conjunction with Malaysia Day, and the increase in allocation for the MADANI Rahmah Sales to RM600 million.
“KPKT is confident that with the MADANI spirit and unity among all quarters, Malaysia can progress as a developed nation that is not only economically stable but also fair and equitable for all,” he said.
