Cease Speculation, Respect Feelings Of Victim's Family - Police

PAPAR, July 18 Julai (Bernama) -- Police have reminded the public to cease any speculation regarding the death of a 13-year-old female student who fell from the dormitory of her secondary school in Papar district on Wednesday.

Papar district police chief Supt Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said that they were investigating the death and urged the public to respect the feelings of the victim’s family who are grieving the loss of the student.

“The police received a report of the incident at 8.16 am and the victim was immediately sent to the Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu for further treatment, but was pronounced dead at about 1 pm yeterday,” he said in a statement, adding that the student was found unconscious in a drain near her dormitory after she was believed to have fallen at about 3 am.

He also urged those with information about the case to come forward and assist investigations by contacting the Papar district police headquarters at 088-912222 or the nearest police station.
