PUTRAJAYA, July 2 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has launched an investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities involving the tender process of MyKiosk project under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).

MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus said that the commission had launched a preliminary investigation into the matter following a complaint lodged by a political party.

“The Governance Investigation Division has also commenced a parallel investigation into the project.

“Apart from KPKT, which has submitted a full report on the tender process and award, several other involved parties have also provided documents related to the project,” he said in a statement today.

Zainul said the MACC’s investigation will focus on two key aspects: identifying any elements of corruption and irregularities in the tender process.

“The investigation is being conducted under the provisions of the MACC Act 2009,” he added.

In May, the KPKT submitted documents related to the MyKiosk Project to the MACC, demonstrating the ministry’s commitment to transparency and integrity in the project.

According to KPKT, all procurement and contractor appointments for MyKiosk were carried out by 133 local authorities (PBT) via open quotation processes.
