New Lukut-Kampung Si Rusa Road to Be Completed By 2027

SEREMBAN, June 25 (Bernama) – The construction of a new road linking the Lukut junction (Dataran Segar) to Kampung Si Rusa in Port Dickson is expected to be completed within two years.

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the project involves the construction of a road spanning between 10 and 13 kilometres, built to Public Works Department (JKR) R2 specifications (two-lane, two-way) with a design speed of 50 kilometres per hour (km/h).

“This alternative road will help reduce congestion in Port Dickson and shorten travel time from Lukut or Bagan Pinang, as it will pass through Kampung Paya and Kampung Bagan Pinang without going through downtown Port Dickson.

“Insya-Allah, this route will benefit over 5,000 local residents by improving access to Lukut town and Si Rusa,” he told reporters after chairing the weekly state executive council meeting at Wisma Negeri here today.

In a separate development, Aminuddin said PLUS Malaysia Berhad has informed that it will carry out an upgrade project for the Pedas Rest and Service Area (R&R) northbound.

Aminuddin said the current rest stop is too small and lacks proper facilities for highway users, functioning only as a temporary stopping point.

“The upgrade, expected to be implemented soon, includes the construction of new facilities such as a surau, rest areas, recreational spaces, and food stalls and trading areas for small traders, including mobile van vendors,” he said.

He added that the initiative has the potential to bring positive impact to the local community in Pedas, while also creating new business opportunities and stimulating economic activity in the area.
