LUMUT, June 12 (Bernama) -- Over 200 direct services from various ministries and government agencies will be available at 36 booths during the Perak MADANI Rakyat (PMR) 2025 Programme, which will be held from tomorrow until Sunday.
Set to take place at Lumut Waterfront, the programme is the second large-scale edition following the one held in Tawau, Sabah.
Perak PMR 2025 will run from 9 am to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 9 am to 6 pm on Sunday. However, government service booths will operate only until 6 pm throughout the three-day event.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the closing of the Perak PMR 2025 programme on Sunday.
Themed “Pendidikan Tinggi, Pemacu Negara MADANI”, the programme is organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), in strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) as the lead ministry and the Perak government as the host.
This edition focuses on providing information, support and opportunities in higher education for youths planning their academic pathways, including the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL), admission consultations to higher learning institutions, and matters related to sponsorships and study loan repayments.
Various agencies under the MOHE will also be present to share information on scholarships, financial assistance, the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), and developments in artificial intelligence (AI).
Perak PMR 2025, which is expected to attract around 100,000 visitors, will also feature various activities, including the MADANI Sales offering discounts of between 10 and 30 per cent on essential goods, the participation of 66 local entrepreneurs showcasing a range of products, and a security asset exhibition.
Other highlights lined up for visitors include a silent drill performance by the Royal Malaysian Navy, a jet ski competition, free motorcycle maintenance services by TVET students, and Quran and helmet exchange programmes.
Job seekers will also have the opportunity to attend open interview sessions involving 10 companies from various sectors, offering more than 1,000 job vacancies.
In addition, four satellite programmes will be held across the Manjung district, namely, Belia Silat MADANI on June 1, Kenduri Rakyat MADANI with the Royal Malaysian Navy on June 15, religious activities on June 20 and 21, and community engagement with local fishermen on June 21.
