Midea Numen Wins Red Dot Award 2025 for Smart, Energy-efficient Cooling

KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 (Bernama) -- Midea, the world’s leading residential inverter air conditioner company, has achieved a new milestone with its Midea Numen air conditioner winning the prestigious German Red Dot Product Design Award 2025.

The award recognises Numen’s innovative structural design and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven features, which enhance both energy efficiency and user comfort. The model has gained notable traction in Southeast Asia, particularly in Malaysia and Thailand.

Powered by Midea’s advanced AI ECOMASTER system, the Numen unit offers smart temperature control with precision within 0.3 degrees Celsius (°C), while delivering up to 30 per cent energy savings.

In a statement, the company said the unit incorporated advanced inverter technology developed over 27 years, supported by more than 3,300 patents.

The air conditioner features COOLFLASH technology, capable of reducing room temperature by five degrees Celsius within 10 minutes, even in extreme conditions up to 55°C, and also includes upgraded I-Clean frost cleaning for improved removal of dust and bacteria, alongside the AIR MAGIC ion generator for virus elimination.

Tailored for Southeast Asia’s humid climate, the Numen incorporates Prime Guard’s six-layer protection system, including anti-corrosion copper tubes and ultraviolet (UV)-coated printed circuit boards (PCBs), offering enhanced durability.

Users in Thailand and Malaysia have praised the model for its effective cooling, quiet operation and reliable performance.

The Numen is also designed with a PULL-DOWN STRUCTURE that simplifies maintenance, allowing faster replacement of key components such as the PCB and motor. Its tall air outlet and removable louvres make regular cleaning more accessible for consumers.

Midea continues to strengthen its presence in overseas markets with more than two decades of regional development.
