KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 (Bernama) -- Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick will lead a delegation from his ministry to attend the 11th Asia Pacific Cooperative Ministers' Conference scheduled from April 28-30 in Jordan.
Ewon said the quadrennial conference is organised by the International Cooperative Alliance - Asia Pacific (ICA-AP) in partnership with the Jordan Cooperative Corporation (JCC) and the Jordan Ministry of Agriculture.
“I will deliver a ministerial statement during the conference and hold a meeting with the Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Al-Huneifat, who is also the Chairman of JCC,” he said in a statement.
Both will then witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Cooperative Institute of Malaysia (IKMa) and JCC.
Besides this, Ewon said he will be visiting the Beit Sweimeh Cooperative, which is supported by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
He will also meet with the Malaysian Diaspora in Jordan during the visit.
Accompanying Ewon on the trip will be Co-operative Societies Commission of Malaysia chief executive officer (CEO) Rusli Jaafar, IKMa director-general Datuk Mohd Ali Mansor, National Co-operative Movement of Malaysia Bhd (ANGKASA) CEO Dato Abdullah Jusoh and Azizul Alias, the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP) division secretary for Co-operative Development, Hawkers and Small Traders.
