PETRONAS Advances Global Growth with Suriname’s Blocks 9 and 10

PARAMARIBO, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- PETRONAS, through its wholly-owned subsidiary PETRONAS Suriname E&P B.V. (PSEPBV), has signed Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) for Blocks 9 and 10, located in the shallow offshore region of Suriname. The agreements were signed with Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. (Staatsolie), Paradise Oil Company N.V. (POC), and consortium partners Chevron Suriname Exploration Limited (Chevron), and QatarEnergy International E&P LLC (QatarEnergy). The PSCs were awarded as part of the Suriname Post Shallow Offshore 2 Bid Round 2024-2025, following the consortium’s successful bid.

These PSCs mark a significant milestone in PETRONAS’ continued expansion in the Suriname-Guyana Basin, a region recognised globally for its hydrocarbon potential. Blocks 9 and 10 span a combined area of approximately 5,456 square kilometres and are strategically located between proven deepwater discoveries and onshore producing fields.
