GRS Leaders Hold Closed-Door Meeting At Sri Gaya Tonight

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- The leaders of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) held a closed-door meeting at the official residence of the Sabah Chief Minister, Sri Gaya here tonight.

The meeting, which began at 7 pm, was hosted by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also the GRS chairman, before several leaders were seen leaving Sri Gaya at around 10 pm tonight.

Among the leaders seen leaving the chief minister's official residence were Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan, who is also the president of the Party Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR), president of the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, and acting president of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Datuk Seri Joachim Gunsalam.

It is understood that the meeting was held to discuss GRS's preparations for the Sabah state election to be held this year.

GRS is made up of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, PBS, STAR, SAPP, United Sabah National Organisation (USNO), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah and Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS).

The 16th Sabah State Legislative Assembly will dissolve automatically on Nov 11 if the assembly is not dissolved before that date.
