JAKARTA, July 1 (Bernama) -- Malaysia remained the largest source of foreign tourists to Indonesia in May, accounting for 21.58 per cent of all international arrivals, according to Indonesia's Statistics Agency (BPS).
BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Ateng Hartono said tourist arrivals from Malaysia increased both month-on-month and year-on-year basis.
“The largest number of international tourist arrivals was by tourists from Malaysia (21.58 per cent,) followed by Australia at 11.22 per cent and Singapore at 9.89 per cent,” he said at a press conference, streamed live on YouTube on Wednesday.
Ateng said Indonesia recorded 1.38 million foreign tourist arrivals in May, up 10.69 per cent from April and 5.83 per cent from a year earlier, with majority of them entering the country through Ngurah Rai International Airport.
