SHAH ALAM, June 29 (Bernama) -- The Traditional Games Museum located in Bukit Malawati, Kuala Selangor, will reopen its doors to the public this Wednesday (July 1).

According to the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (PADAT), the museum will resume operations after a temporary closure for maintenance and facility upgrades aimed at ensuring safety, comfort, and a better visitor experience.

“The museum is open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9.30am to 5.30pm, with last entry at 4.30pm.

“The entrance fee is RM3.00 per adult Malaysian visitor, while children aged 12 and below enjoy free admission,” said PADAT in a statement today.

To further enhance the visitor experience, PADAT said the museum will conduct demonstrations of traditional games in the interactive space according to a set schedule.

“The activity offers visitors the chance to witness and try out various traditional games in a relaxed setting, allowing them to appreciate the uniqueness of the country’s cultural heritage through first-hand experience.

“It is hoped that the reopening of the museum will revive heritage tourism activities in Bukit Malawati, Kuala Selangor, and provide the community with an opportunity to continue to learn about and appreciate the country’s traditional game heritage,” said PADAT.

The Traditional Games Museum is the only museum in Malaysia showcasing the heritage of traditional games of the local community through a range of collections, exhibitions and engaging interpretive materials.

“The museum serves as an educational platform to introduce traditional games to the younger generation, while fostering appreciation of cultural values, creativity, and the spirit of togetherness that have long been part of Malaysian identity.

“PADAT remains committed to empowering museum institutions as centres of education, heritage preservation and cultural tourism attractions in Selangor,” according to the statement.
