KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 (Bernama) -- A special immediate allocation of RM750,000 has been approved to strengthen service delivery at the Durian Tunggal Health Clinic and the Durian Tunggal Dental Clinic in Melaka.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the allocation would be used for the procurement of medical and non-medical assets, as well as comprehensive infrastructure improvement works.
“This injection of funds is critical to accommodate the projected surge in patient attendance in this area, which has now reached more than 110,000 people annually,” he said in a Facebook post today.
He said the allocation would be utilised, among others, to facilitate upgrading works for the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Room, Counselling Room, and resurfacing of the public parking area at the Durian Tunggal Health Clinic.
It would also be used for repair works on the patient screening rooms at the dental clinic, as well as the procurement of new clinical equipment to improve comfort for patients and staff.
“All these upgrading efforts are a direct reflection of the Ministry of Health’s commitment to upholding the principles of accessibility and health equity,” he said, adding that he also inspected the operations of both clinics today.
