KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 (Bernama) -- The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) confirmed that mixed doubles player Toh Ee Wei sustained a knee injury during her quarter-final match at the Singapore Open last week.
BAM said in a statement today the subsequent MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) assessment revealed a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee.
"As a result, Toh Ee Wei and her mixed doubles partner Chen Tang Jie have withdrawn from the Indonesia Open 2026," the statement said.
Ee Wei is scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI assessment next Friday after which BAM’s medical team will determine the next course of treatment and rehabilitation.
