KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 (Bernama) -- More than 400,000 teachers and education service officers have benefitted from the MADANI 2025 Teachers' Book Voucher Programme, reflecting a positive response to the government's initiative to strengthen the culture of reading and lifelong learning among educators.
Perbadanan Kota Buku (PKB) chief executive officer Adibah Omar said the impact study, conducted in collaboration with the IDE Research Centre, which involved 1,794 respondents, found that 92 per cent of educators supported the continuation of the programme, while 82.2 per cent of recipients were satisfied with its implementation.
She said that 87.5 per cent of respondents believed the programme successfully fostered an interest in reading, while 63.2 per cent used the vouchers received to enhance their professional knowledge.
"This achievement demonstrates the high commitment of educators towards the practice of reading and the cultivation of knowledge, in line with the government's desire to strengthen the national education ecosystem," she said when presenting the programme's impact study at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTCKL) today.
According to her, the programme that offers book purchase vouchers to teachers and education service officers not only increases access to quality reading materials but also encourages lifelong learning.
Adibah said that among the best-selling book titles among teachers are ‘Buku AI Guru Siri 2: Rahsia PdP Lebih Hebat dan Meyakinkan' by Dr. Ihsan Ismail and Abd Rahman Ali Bashah, as well as 'Buku AI Guru' by Abd Rahman and Ahmad Syahril.
"The selection of a title related to artificial intelligence shows that teachers are always keeping up with technological developments and the direction of the country," she added.
The MADANI 2025 Teachers' Book Voucher Programme, announced in June last year, is a government initiative to appreciate the contributions of educators while strengthening the reading culture among teachers and education service officers.
