KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 (Bernama) -- National young sprinter Danish Iftikhar Muhammad Roslee finished sixth in the men's 200 metres (m) event at the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championships in Hong Kong today.
In the final held at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground, the 19-year-old clocked 21.32 seconds (s), which is considerably slower than his national record of 20.73s, which he set when winning bronze in the men's 200m event at the 2025 SEA Games in Bangkok last December.
Meanwhile, Abdul Quddus Ahmed Ali of the United Arab Emirates clinched gold in 20.85s, ahead of China's Chen Jinxin, who took silver in 21.12s.
Sri Lanka's Sadew Wimansa Rajakaruna Senarath Mudiyanseiage won the bronze medal with a time of 21.13s.
The championships, which began last Thursday, will conclude tomorrow.
