KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- A total of 63 staff members of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today received the Ministry of Communications’ 2025 Excellent Service Award (APC) in recognition of their dedication, commitment and outstanding performance over the past year.
Bernama chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin expressed hope that the award would motivate other employees to further enhance their performance and drive the organisation towards greater excellence.
“Alhamdulillah, today we honour 63 Bernama APC 2025 recipients who have demonstrated commitment, dedication, determination and excellence in carrying out their duties throughout the year.
“I hope this award will serve as a source of inspiration for their colleagues to also strive for excellence in carrying out their respective duties,” she told Bernama after attending the Ministry of Communications’ 2025 APC Ceremony here today.
Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, Communications Ministry deputy secretary-general (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry) Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil, Broadcasting director-general (Radio Televisyen Malaysia) Ashwad Ismail and Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting and Information Institute (IPPTAR) director Datuk Roslan Ariffin.
Meanwhile, Nur-ul Afida said as an agency under the Ministry of Communications, Bernama must continue to evolve in line with current needs and strengthen its role in the country’s media landscape.
She said that the majority of Bernama’s workforce now consisted of young employees, whom she believed could bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the management in efforts to enhance organisational excellence.
A total of 687 personnel from the Ministry of Communications and its agencies received the 2025 APC, with 535 from the Peninsular Zone being honoured at today’s ceremony.
The recipients comprised 66 from the Ministry of Communications; 234 from RTM; 121 from the Information Department (JaPen); 18 from the Community Communications Department (JKom); eight from IPPTAR; 63 from Bernama; and 25 from the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).
