KANGAR, May 20 (Bernama) -- The public are invited to attend the Malam Kilauan Cahaya Istana Arau #MKC26 programme in conjunction with the 83rd birthday celebration of the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, at the grounds of Istana Arau this Saturday and Sunday (May 23 and 24).
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Raja of Perlis tonight, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin has consented to open the grounds of Istana Arau to members of the public for the programme.
The statement said the programme would take place from 9.30 pm to 11.30 pm and visitors are required to wear proper and appropriate attire.
“May this year’s Malam Kilauan Cahaya create a thousand and one beautiful memories for the people,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, based on the accompanying guidelines issued together with the statement, visitors are requested to cooperate by not bringing outside food and beverages into the grounds of Istana Arau.
The grounds of Istana Arau are designated as a non-smoking area, including a ban on electronic cigarettes (vapes). Visitors are also required to dispose of rubbish in designated bins and are only allowed to move within permitted areas of the palace grounds.
In addition, the guidelines stated that roads on both sides in front of Istana Arau would be temporarily closed beginning at 8 pm until the programme concludes.
