KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 (Bernama) -- Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (Toshiba) has launched “TDS5C212MX” and “TDS5B212MX”, 2:1 multiplexer (Mux) / 1:2 demultiplexer (De‑Mux) switches supporting high-speed interfaces such as PCIe 6.0 and USB4 Version 2.0.
As demand grows for reliable switching of ultra-high-speed differential signals in servers, industrial equipment, robotics and personal computers (PCs), Toshiba in a statement said the devices are designed to operate within increasingly constrained board space.
PCIe 6.0 and USB4 Version 2.0 are interface standards that double the data transfer rate to 64 gigatransfers per second (GT/s) compared with PCIe 5.0 and that support high‑speed data transfer of up to 80 gigabits per second (Gbps), respectively.
The switches can operate as 2-input/1-output Mux or 1-input/2-output De-Mux devices, enabling shared use of a single high-speed interface and flexible signal routing in system designs.
Both products feature pin layouts optimised for high-frequency characteristics, with TDS5C212MX specifically designed to minimise signal path length to reduce reflections and losses. The devices also support operating temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius for industrial applications.
Toshiba, a supplier of advanced semiconductor and storage solutions, will continue developing high‑performance, highly reliable analogue switches to support next-generation high-speed interface evolution.
