Azizan Jaafar Appointed New CEO Of VentureTECH

KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- VentureTECH Sdn Bhd has appointed Azizan Jaafar as its chief executive officer (CEO) with immediate effect.

In a statement today, the government-backed impact investment company said Azizan is a seasoned corporate leader with close to three decades of experience in corporate finance, investment, and strategic leadership across both private sector and government-linked organisations.

He brings strong expertise in investment structuring, capital management, and value creation.

“Azizan’s appointment reinforces VentureTECH’s continued focus on strengthening its role as a catalytic investor in advancing Bumiputera participation in these sectors.

“As CEO, Azizan will lead VentureTECH’s strategic direction, with a focus on enhancing portfolio performance, strengthening value creation initiatives, and advancing the development of Bumiputera-led companies,” it said.

VentureTECH said his leadership will further support the company’s mandate in building critical national capabilities and contributing towards Malaysia’s technology and innovation ecosystem.

Prior to joining VentureTECH, Azizan served as group chief financial and strategy officer at Perbadanan Ekonomi Islam Perak Sdn Bhd, where he oversaw finance, corporate strategy, and key support functions across a diversified portfolio, including renewable energy, healthcare, plantation and property sectors.

Incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), VentureTECH currently supports more than 30 investee companies across high-growth, high-value sectors, with a portfolio valuation exceeding RM2.5 billion and the creation of over 4,000 high-skilled jobs.

“VentureTECH remains focused on its mandate of catalysing the growth of companies in sectors such as biotechnology, green technology, and emerging technologies, in line with national aspirations including the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35),” it added.
