Two Killed In Light Plane Crash In Russia's Omsk Region

MOSCOW, May 6 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- A light aircraft crashed in Russia's Omsk region on Wednesday, killing two people on board, local authorities said, reported Xinhua.

The aircraft, identified as an Aeroprakt-22, went down at around 1.00 pm local time (0700 GMT) near the village of Koshkarevo in the Azovsky Nemetsky National District, according to the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office.

Preliminary information indicates that the plane, operated by a local aviation company, was performing aerial work when the crash occurred, the office said.

The cause and circumstances of the accident are under investigation.
