IPOH, April 28 (Bernama) -- Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) is ready to assist an outstanding Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2025 student whose father passed away to further his studies abroad through a special programme.

The 18-year-old student is an alumnus of Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in Kepala Batas, Penang.

MARA chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki shared the news on his official Facebook page today.

"I was saddened to receive news that the father of Hafiz, a student from Gerik who memorised 30 juzuk of the Quran and scored straight As in his SPM, has passed away. I met him (student) and tested his recitation at a function two weeks ago.

"Insya-Allah, I will fulfil my promise for MARA to fund his studies in the (field) of engineering," he said.

On April 12, Asyraf Wajdi uploaded a video of the teenager reciting several verses from the Quran during a function held at MRSM Gerik.
