KUALA TERENGGANU, April 27 (Bernama) -- World-class cycling team Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) is targeting two podium finishes and the top three overall teams at the Tour of Bostonliq, in Uzbekistan, starting tomorrow.
TSG chief operating officer Nasiruddin Wan Idrus said six riders, including three imports and three locals, will take on the challenge at the International Cycling Union (UCI) 2.2-level race this time.
"The riders involved are Adne Van Engelen, James Gardner, Juan Pedro Lozano Navarro, Muhammad Shahmir Aiman Abd Halim, Muhammad Haizam Mohd Shabri and Nur Amirul Fakhruddin Marzuki.
"The riders will go through two hilly stages of the race totalling 303.8 kilometres on April 27 and 28," he said when contacted by Bernama today.
Nasiruddin said TSG, which is based in Kuala Terengganu, is currently ranked fourth in Asia and the continent after collecting 695 points from 10 UCI race series.
He said with more than 20 races remaining, TSG is confident of regaining the Asian champion title that it won for four consecutive years from 2021 to 2024, before the 2026 season draws to a close next October.
