NEW YORK, April 22 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar increased in late trading on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.3 per cent to 98.393 at 3 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro decreased to US$1.1726 from US$1.1782 in the previous session, and the British pound was down to US$1.3482 from US$1.3536 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 159.59 Japanese yen, higher than 158.87 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar climbed to 0.7821 Swiss francs from 0.7786 Swiss francs, and was up to 1.3673 Canadian dollars from 1.3643 Canadian dollars. The US dollar increased to 9.1997 Swedish kronor from 9.1269 Swedish kronor.
