KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 (Bernama) -- Several strategic initiatives and collaborations between Malaysia and the Muslim World League (MWL) are set to be realised, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan.
He said the outcome followed a closed-door meeting with MWL Secretary-General Datuk Seri Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Issa, held after the conclusion of the Faith and Science Competition Programme yesterday.
In a Facebook post today, Zulkifli described the meeting as more than just an exchange of views, but a platform to chart a clear and focused direction for future cooperation.
“Alhamdulillah, this opportunity has been fully utilised. Not just to exchange views, but to chart the future through meaningful and visionary discussions.
“Insya-Allah, several strategic initiatives and collaborations with the Muslim World League will be realised, from discourse to action, for a stronger, more knowledgeable and united ummah,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to Al-Issa and the MWL for their commitment and willingness to share their views.
“When the intention is for Allah, a meeting becomes an act of worship. When the vision is clear, the steps become meaningful,” he added.
Previously, Al-Issa described Malaysia as a source of inspiration for the Islamic world, particularly in advancing Islamic initiatives at the international level.
He said this is reflected in the country’s consistent commitment and active participation in programmes organised in collaboration with the MWL.
Among such initiatives is the Iman dan Sains (Faith and Science) Competition, held throughout Ramadan via the Iman & Sains Malaysia platform, aimed at strengthening cooperation between nations while promoting universal values and presenting Islam as a religion of compassion for all.
