KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 (Bernama) -- Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who is on a two-day official visit to Malaysia, visited the Petronas Twin Towers here today.
Albanese and his delegation arrived at 2.30 pm and were welcomed by Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup and Petronas chief operating officer Mohd Jukris Abdul Wahab.
Albanese also held discussions with Petronas on related matters and took the opportunity to visit the sky bridge, which is one of the tourist attractions at the towers.
Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Albanese is set to hold discussions with Petronas to advance Malaysia-Australia energy cooperation.
Australia is a significant economic partner for Malaysia, ranking as Malaysia’s 12th largest trading partner in 2025, with total bilateral trade valued at RM78.63 billion (USD18.38 billion).
Malaysia and Australia elevated their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) in 2021, providing a framework to further expand cooperation across three key pillars: economic prosperity, society and technology, and defence and regional security.
