IPOH, April 14 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, graced the Official Opening Ceremony of the Fourth Year of the 15th Perak State Legislative Assembly at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building today.
Also in attendance was the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.
Their Royal Highnesses were received on arrival by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and Perak State Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid.
The ceremony commenced with the playing of the Perak state anthem and the hoisting of the Sultan’s Personal Flag.
Sultan Nazrin then inspected the Main Guard of Honour, mounted by three officers and 102 personnel from the General Operations Force (GOF) Northern Brigade, Ulu Kinta, led by Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, PGA Ulu Kinta, Supt Ooi Jin Bin.
The Main Guard of Honour was commanded by DSP Mohd Fatahlul Moin Mat Isa, assisted by ASP Mohd Izzat Ayob, while Insp Mohd Izwan Mohd Salleh and Sub-Inspector Aswadi Bohari served as standard bearers.
The escort band was provided by the Kedah branch of the Royal Malaysian Police Band, led by Insp Syed Mohd Izzudin Syed Salehudin.
The current State Assembly sitting begins today and will run until April 21.
