Iran Denies Launching Missiles At Gulf States After Ceasefire

ISTANBUL, April 10 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Iran early Friday denied launching any missiles or drones at Gulf states since the ceasefire went into effect, rejecting media reports of attacks on facilities in several countries in the region, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported, citing local media.

In a statement carried by Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Iran’s armed forces “have not launched anything toward any country” during the ceasefire.

“The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have not carried out any launch toward any country during the ceasefire until this moment,” the statement said.

The IRGC said that if the reports were true, they were the work of what it described as the “Zionist enemy” or the United States (US).

The IRGC said Iran would publicly announce any attack carried out by its forces.

It stressed that any strike conducted by Iranian forces would be officially declared, adding that any action not announced by Tehran does not belong to Iran.

“Any action not included in the official statements of the Islamic Republic of Iran has nothing to do with us,” it added.

The US and Iran announced a two-week ceasefire on Tuesday, brokered by Pakistan, as a step toward a possible broader agreement to halt a conflict launched by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran on Feb 28 that has left thousands killed and wounded.

While Islamabad and Tehran said the ceasefire includes Lebanon, Washington and Tel Aviv denied that.
