KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 (Bernama) -- The Maxim e-hailing platform is now operating legally nationwide after receiving official approval from the relevant authorities.

Maxim Malaysia director Mohd Hazwan Musley said the company has obtained a valid licence and fully complied with the regulatory requirements stipulated by the Ministry of Transport (MOT), the Road Transport Department (JPJ), the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB).

He said that on Dec 2, 2025, APAD published an official statement on Facebook listing all registered e-hailing companies operating in Peninsular Malaysia, and Maxim was also listed as having a valid permit.

He added that for its operations in Sabah and Sarawak, the company has all the required operational documents from the CVLB, and is always fully compliant with local regulatory requirements.

"Publishing the official APAD list has dispelled any doubts about Maxim's licensing status. We are operating with complete transparency and strict compliance with Malaysia's transport regulations

"Our focus now is to continue improving service quality and safety standards, thus ensuring both drivers and passengers benefit from a trustworthy and valid e-hailing platform,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Hazwan also emphasised that all Maxim drivers are required to have a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence, E-Hailing Vehicle Permit (EVP) and insurance, in addition to their vehicles having to pass the Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (PUSPAKOM) inspection to ensure passenger safety.

According to the statement, Maxim has also enhanced access to transportation, especially in rural areas, while providing flexible income opportunities for local drivers and supporting the local economy.

He added that the company has also implemented its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative in the fields of education, health and environmental sustainability.

Meanwhile, Maxim is also offering inclusive features, such as special fares for people with disabilities (PwD) and travel for women in selected areas.
