INDONESIA 

 

1.INDONESIA COORDINATES FOR SAFETY OF ITS VESSELS IN STRAIT OF HORMUZ -- ANTARA

The Indonesian government has continued to strengthen coordination to support the safe passage of its vessels in the Persian Gulf area to safely transit the Strait of Hormuz.

 

2.PRABOWO EYES TRADE, TECHNOLOGY, FORESTRY TIES THROUGH JAPAN VISIT -- ANTARA

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is on a mission to strengthen bilateral cooperation across key sectors, such as trade, technology, education, forestry, and the environment, during his state visit to Japan, an official said.

1.TRANSFORMING GOLD INDUSTRY -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

The Laos-International Precious Metals Refinery, which began operations on Friday, will advance the country’s goal of joining the global precious metals market. The refinery will establish a comprehensive gold industry ecosystem. 

 

2.VILLAGES HIT BY HAILSTORM RECEIVE AID -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

The government is mobilising humanitarian aid to the Sikhottabong district, which was recently struck by a hailstorm. Rice and other essential supplies have been distributed to 480 families in five villages, and electricity has been restored in 10 villages.

 

MYANMAR

 

1.UPGRADING TRAIN SPEED TO ANCIENT CITY -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The  Bago-Mawlamyine railway tracks are being upgraded to enable trains to travel at  75 kilometres per hour. Trains on the 176-mile route  were previously operating at a maximum speed of 48 kilometres per hour.

 

2.DIGITAL SYSTEM FOR EFFICIENT FUEL USAGE -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The barcode and QR code system is being implemented at fuel stations along the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway. The move is to ensure the efficient use of fuel and reduce wastage during periods of fuel shortage.

The construction of the Long Thanh International Airport in southern Dong Nai province is being accelerated so it can operate in the fourth quarter of 2026. Contractors are revising timelines to ensure construction is completed by September.
