The government has ensured that national energy remains secure amid global turmoil, especially amid conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States in the Middle East region.

 

2. PRABOWO ORDERS FASTER ROLLOUT OF WASTE-TO-ENERGY PROJECTS -- ANTARA

President Prabowo Subianto has ordered the acceleration of waste-to-energy (WTE) development in major Indonesian cities, aiming to tackle mounting waste and boost alternative energy supply, officials said on Wednesday.

The Mekong-Lancang River Cooperation marked its 10th anniversary, achieving milestones in connectivity, cross-border economic cooperation, water management, capacity building, agriculture, and poverty eradication.

 

2. FUEL IMPORTS TO STABILISE DOMESTIC SUPPLY -- VIENTIANE TIMES

The Lao State Fuel Enterprise and PTT (Laos) Co Ltd will import 14 million litres of diesel to stabilise domestic supply after global energy disruptions caused irregular deliveries and increased demand.

The armed forces performed a full dress rehearsal ahead of the 81st Armed Forces Day parade on March 27. Members, including female personnel, from seven parade columns, participated in the rehearsal.

The Ministry of Health has drafted the new National Malaria Strategic Plan 2026-2030 to eliminate malaria nationwide by 2030 and enhance outbreak response capabilities.

 Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi agreed with leaders of Malaysia and the Philippines on Tuesday to cooperate in easing tensions in the West Asia.

 

2. SCATTERED RAINS SEEN OVER PARTS OF PH -- PHILIPPINE NEWS AGENCY

 More areas will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the prevailing easterlies, the weather bureau said Thursday.

1. TRANSPORT MINISTRY: NO FUEL SHORTAGE FOR SONGKRAN; PUBLIC TRANSPORT READY, KEY EXPRESSWAYS AND MOTORWAYS FREE -- THE NATION

Deputy PM Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn says Thailand will have sufficient fuel during Songkran 2026, with public transport operators prepared and fares unchanged, as the ministry forecasts 18.58 million passenger-trips and free expressway and motorway travel on key routes.

 

2. MINISTRY TO LIMIT TREATMENT, EXPAND MEDS CONTROLS -- BANGKOK POST

The Ministry of Public Health plans to limit certain treatments, expand telemedicine and tighten pharmaceutical management to cope with mounting resource pressures, as the Middle East war threatens global medical supply chains, permanent secretary Dr Somruek Chungsaman said.

Hanoi plans to build a 2,500-seat theatre costing RM301 million (US$76 million) and schedule completion by 2030. The theatre will provide a modern cultural infrastructure to meet rising public demand for high-quality performances.

 

2.HANOI-MOSCOW SHAPING ROBUST TRADE TIES -- VIETNAMPLUS

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Wednesday, where they agreed to expand cooperation. Priority sectors include oil and gas, science and technology, innovation, and infrastructure development.
