KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil today extended his wishes for National Artistes Day, in recognition of the significant contributions of the country’s arts practitioners.
In a Facebook post, Fahmi said this year’s theme, “Syawal Seni, Jiwa MADANI”, reflects appreciation for artistes and creative industry players who continue to enrich national identity and bring communities together through their work.
“The MADANI Government is committed to strengthening the creative industry through four key policies, namely the National Creative Industry Policy, National Film Policy, National Broadcasting Policy and National Music Policy.
“May this industry continue to grow, remain sustainable and stay competitive. Thank you, and keep creating for Malaysia,” he said.
Observed annually on March 22, National Artistes Day coincides with the birth anniversary of the late Tan Sri P Ramlee, in honour of his legacy and the contributions of the nation’s arts community.
