KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) -- The implementation of the Women's Referral, Intervention, Support, Information and Advocacy (PRISMAnita) initiative, launched by the government yesterday, does not involve any additional financial allocation.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the initiative, placed under the Women’s Development Department (JPW) at the state level, will be carried out by optimising existing resources.

“It does not require many personnel. When we introduced it, we did not need additional funds. No extra allocation is required.

“We only assign a specific officer to respond to and address their needs so that women can save time and be directed to the right place,” she told reporters when met at the Cahaya Ramadan breaking-of-fast programme with Gardenia at ISTAC-IIUM here today.

Nancy described PRISMAnita as an important one-stop centre that helps victims identify the appropriate channels for assistance.

She said the dedicated counter is designed to help women facing various issues, including domestic violence, obtain assistance directly without unnecessary delays.

Yesterday, the government launched the PRISMAnita initiative to improve access to support services for women, particularly in addressing family-related issues such as domestic violence.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said PRISMAnita aims to provide more efficient, faster, coordinated and victim-friendly services, while offering more comprehensive support for women.

He said the initiative not only involves services under the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM), but is also supported by other ministries and related departments to ensure assistance for women is coordinated comprehensively.

“Within the framework of the MADANI government, we ensure that PRISMAnita does not operate in silos. Programmes, activities and initiatives by KPWKM must be fully supported by all relevant ministries and departments,” he said when speaking at the International Women’s Day 2026 celebration at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) yesterday.
