Muslims Urged To Pray For Global Peace During Last 10 Nights Of Ramadan

KUCHING, March 9 (Bernama) -- Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud.called on Muslims in Malaysia to make full use of the last 10 nights of Ramadan to offer prayers for the return of peace to the world, particularly in regions affected by conflict.

He also called on Muslims nationwide to pray that the conflict involving Iran, the United States (US) and Israel can subside soon to ensure global peace is preserved.

“During the last 10 nights of Ramadan, let us all pray that the world, particularly the conflict involving Iran, the United States and Zionist Israel, will soon de-escalate.

“We hope the impact of the war will not reach our country and that we can all continue living in peace,” he said when speaking at a MADANI Ramadan Iftar event in Sarawak here today.

Mustapha said prayers and continuous efforts are important so that issues related to the conflict can be resolved quickly for the well-being of the global community.

Tensions in the Middle East have intensified since Feb 28 following attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran, which were followed by retaliatory strikes by Tehran against US interests in Gulf countries.

According to records from the Foreign Ministry, as of March 8, a total of 649 Malaysians remain stranded in several affected countries in the region, while 24,568 Malaysians had registered through the e-Konsular system as of March 7.

Earlier at the event, Mustapha presented contributions of kitchen essentials to 100 recipients from around Kampung Muara Tebas.
