KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 (Bernama) -- AmMetLife Insurance Bhd has appointed Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail as its new chief executive officer effective March 1, 2026, succeeding Rangam Bir who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.
The insurer said Wan Saifulrizal has nearly 30 years of experience across the insurance and takaful industries as industry regulator, actuary, and senior leader across insurance and takaful organizations.
“He has also served as the chairman of the Malaysian Takaful Association, reflecting his active leadership within Malaysia’s insurance sector,” it said in a statement today.
MetLife’s regional head for Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal and Vietnam Elena Butarova said that Wan Saifulrizal brings a strong combination of actuarial insights, deep industry experience, and commercial leadership to AmMetLife at a time when protection and health needs in Malaysia are evolving rapidly.
Meanwhile, Wan Saifulrizal said that he looks forward to lead AmMetLife as the company continues to share the benefits of insurance, health protection and sound financial planning with millions of Malaysians.
