04/03/2026 04:19 PM

KOTA KINABALU, March 4 (Bernama) -- Sabah has fully recovered from floods with the last relief centre (PPS) in Beaufort, at Dewan DUN Banir, closed at 2 pm today.

Beaufort district officer Mohd Nazri Ajun said in a statement that all 81 evacuees from 28 families who had been sheltering at the PPS had been allowed to return to their respective homes.

Mohd Nazri, who is also the District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD) chairman, said the centre was closed after inspections found that the affected areas and houses were safe for residents to return.

He added that weather conditions in Beaufort were good while river water levels were showing a downward trend and had returned to normal.
