Flood Situation In Sabah Improves, Drastic Reduction In Flood Evacuees

KOTA KINABALU, March 3 (Bernama) -- The flood situation in Sabah has improved as the number of evacuees was drastically reduced to 82 people from 29 families in Beaufort as of 4 pm today.

The Sabah disaster management committee secretariat said that it was a massive reduction from the 363 evacuees from 133 families recorded at 8 am.

"All the evacuees are at Dewan DUN Banir, which opened on Feb 25,” the secretariat said in a statement today.

Only five villages remain affected this evening, compared to 93 villages this morning, it added.
