German Open: Ling Ching Loses Quarterfinal Match

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- National women’s singles player Wong Ling Ching’s run in the 2026 German Open ended in the quarterfinal when she lost to Han Qian Xi of China in Mulheim today.

Fresh from her upset against world number eight Pornpawee Chochuwong ofi Thailand yesterday, Ling Ching went down 21-16, 21-13 in 39 minutes.

Only two Malaysian representatives remain in the tournament, having advanced to the quarterfinals of their respective events.

Mixed doubles pair and 2018 edition winners, Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie will take on the Singaporean-Indonesian combination of Terry Hee-Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, while men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani wll play Taiwanese pair Chiu Hsiang Chieh-Wang Chi Lin.
