BERNAMA Radio Celebrates World Radio Day 2026 With Icons, Special Programmes

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- BERNAMA Radio is celebrating World Radio Day 2026, observed annually on Feb 13, with a series of special programmes featuring prominent radio industry icons.

Endok Baleana Bachok, senior manager of BERNAMA Radio, who is also carrying out the duties of Head of radio, said former radio presenters Mohd Nor Amin (Noramin), Halim Othman and Linda Onn will share their insights and experiences navigating the evolution and challenges of the radio broadcasting landscape.

“This year’s celebration is further highlighted by a simulcast between BERNAMA Radio and IKIMfm, offering listeners an opportunity to engage with key personalities and DJs from both stations,” she said.

BERNAMA Radio will also broadcast live from the Bernama Mobile Studio in collaboration with Radio Elshinta Jakarta through the Radio@TV programme, she added.

In line with this year’s theme, ‘Radio and Artificial Intelligence (AI)’, BERNAMA Radio will feature academic experts to discuss AI’s growing role in radio broadcasting.

“The rapid advancements in AI necessitate adaptation. Radio must explore how AI can enhance the quality and creativity of content delivery, while also assisting in areas such as idea generation, scriptwriting, and editing,” she added.

The celebration will also showcase voices from current radio presenters in a special segment titled Refleksi Nuansa. Among those featured will be Negeri FM presenter Norlizahana Abdullah Sani (Nen Tebabo), Selangor FM's Dassky Shah Ewas Hamshah and Suria FM’s Kai Hassan.
