KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30 (Bernama) -- Affin Bank Bhd has been honoured with The Asset’s Best New Bond Award 2026 for its landmark debut US$300 million senior unsecured notes issuance completed in June 2025.
It said in a statement today that the five-year issuance drew exceptionally strong interest from a high‐quality and globally diversified investor base, achieving 3.5 times oversubscription and closing with an order book of more than US$1 billion.
“This outstanding reception reflects deep market confidence in the bank’s credit strength, long‐term resilience and strategic direction.
“HSBC acted as bookrunner, lead manager and rating adviser, alongside Affin Hwang Investment Bank, MUFG Bank and Standard Chartered as joint bookrunners and lead managers,” said the bank.
Affin Bank president and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said the recognition marks a significant endorsement of Affin Bank’s inaugural entry into the US dollar bond market.
“The overwhelming investor response underscores strong confidence in our credit fundamentals, strategic clarity and disciplined delivery under the Affin Axelerate 2028 (AX28) Strategic Plan,” he said.
