GUA MUSANG, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of National Unity has allocated RM2.6 million for 37 Progressive Neighbourhood Watch (RT) projects across Kelantan since 2024.
Kelantan Department of National Unity and National Integration director Zarina Zakaria said the projects are funded through grants to strengthen existing community-run initiatives, aimed at boosting their income.
“This funding is not intended as seed money, but to expand and strengthen existing economic opportunities with the Neighbourhood Watch communities.
“Of the eight focus areas for Progressive RT, two are mandatory: communities must have existing economic projects and actively conduct voluntary patrols. The other areas cover community support activities and efforts to strengthen unity,” she told reporters after visiting a deer farming project in Kampung Kundur today.
Zarina said the Progressive RT projects include community ventures in deer farming, fertigation crops, turkey farming, cattle farming, goat rearing, freshwater fish farming and stingless bee honey production.
She noted that in Gua Musang, two Progressive RT projects are underway: freshwater fish farming in Kampung Batu Papan and deer farming in Kampung Kundur.
