Indonesia's Central Bank Keeps Benchmark Rate At 4.75 Pct

21/01/2026 07:11 PM

JAKARTA, Jan 21 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Bank Indonesia (BI) on Wednesday decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 4.75 per cent following its two-day meeting of the board of governors, reported Xinhua.

The central bank also maintained the deposit facility rate at 3.75 per cent and the lending facility rate at 5.5 per cent.

BI governor Perry Warjiyo said the policy stance is consistent with the central bank's focus on stabilising the rupiah amid heightened global uncertainty, while supporting inflation targets and economic growth.

Looking ahead, he said BI will continue to strengthen policy transmission and macroprudential measures, while assessing room for further interest rate cuts.
