20/01/2026 06:53 PM

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- The emphasis of the National Education Blueprint (RPN) 2026-2035 on talent development, future skills, mastery of digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), innovation and lifelong learning is clearly in line with the needs and desires of today's youths.

Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said this initiative can equip the younger generation with the ability to think critically, be adaptive and be bold in exploring new opportunities in an ever-changing economic and social landscape.

"The launch of RPN 2026-2035 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today is a crucial step towards strengthening the country's education ecosystem, which not only stresses academic achievements but also focuses on aspects of character, values, soft skills, leadership and resilience,” he said in a statement today.

Mohammed Taufiq added that a strong educational foundation is the key to developing a balanced and competitive group of youth capable of contributing meaningfully to the community and country.

"In line with the RPN's implementation, I welcome the collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to ensure the continuation of youth development from the world of education to the next phase of skill training, leadership, volunteerism, entrepreneurship and employment marketability,” he said.

Mohammed Taufiq said the successful implementation of the RPN 2026-2035 would require the commitment and cooperation of all parties, including the government, educators, parents, educational institutions, civil society and youths.

"This RPN will become a solid foundation in shaping a quality and resilient generation of Malaysian youths who will be ready to lead the contry to a future that is more sustainable, progressive and prosperous,” he said.

Anwar today launched the RPN, which involved the MOE and MOHE.

The plan, according to Anwar, is an education reform for a future where children have fairer opportunities, are more competitive and rooted in values, so that they can build meaningful and dignified lives.

The RPN is jointly led by the MOHE through RPTM (Malaysian Higher Education Blueprint), and the MOE through the Malaysian Education Plan (RPM) 2026-2035.

The integrated implementation of the RPTM 2026-2035 and the RPM 2026-2035 under the RPN 2026-2035 reflects the comprehensive and phased alignment of national education policies to ensure the continuity of human capital development from the school level to higher education.
