Ahmad Zahid Announces RM300,000 Contribution To Skuad Sayang 3K To Boost Welfare Efforts

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today announced a RM300,000 contribution to the National Skuad Sayang 3K (Welfare, Health and Safety) to enhance welfare initiatives for those in need.

He said the National Skuad Sayang 3K, led by Wanita UMNO, has been recognised as one of the most active non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and volunteer groups on the frontlines of disaster management in the country.

He added that the squad’s presence is always felt by disaster victims, whether at relief centres (PPS) or in affected areas, reflecting Wanita UMNO’s dedication to the welfare of the community.

“When disasters strike, the National Skuad Sayang 3K is on the ground. This is a clear manifestation of Wanita UMNO’s concern for the people…these efforts are commendable and have been recognised by the Social Welfare Department,” he said at a tea reception here.

Meanwhile, Wanita UMNO chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, who is also chief commissioner of the National Skuad Sayang 3K, said the organisation is a registered NGO that operates independently without being bound by bureaucratic directives or structures.

“Many of us have surely witnessed underprivileged households with nearly empty kitchens, elderly individuals living alone, or resilient single mothers caring for their children. In such situations, the National Skuad Sayang 3K steps in, not with grand promises, but with small gestures that make a real difference,” she said.

Also contributing to the squad were UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, UMNO Vice-President Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, and UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, bringing the total contributions to RM600,000.
