GUA MUSANG, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- A total of 520 students from three state constituencies under the Gua Musang parliamentary constituency received benefits totalling RM104,000 through Kesejahteraan Rakyat Malaysia MADANI (Sejahtera MADANI) Education initiative this year.
Galas assemblyman Datuk Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim said the targeted assistance involved 234 families registered in the eKasih system in Galas, Paloh and Nenggiri state constituencies, aimed at reducing the burden of expenses for poor and hardcore poor families in the district.
He said cash assistance was distributed to 51 heads of households (KIR) in Galas constituency totalling RM22,000, 69 KIR in Paloh totaling RM32,800 and 115 KIR in Nenggiri amounting RM49,200.
"Through the assistance coordinated by ICU JPM, we can identify those who are truly in need, in addition to ensuring that the delivery of assistance is made in a focused and integrated manner," he told reporters at the Back to School 2026 @ Galas Programme here, today.
He said his party also presented school supplies assistance to more than 500 pupils and students from poor families, orphans and asnaf in preparation for the 2026 school session.
Mohd Syahbuddin said a total of eight items of school were presented including a set of school uniform, bag and shoes.
